Asistence was founded as a non-profit organisation in 1995 as a provider of integral services for students and graduates of the school Jedlička Institute. Its clients are people with physical and combined disabilities. Its mission is to find a way to help people who have physical or multiple disabilities discover their own way to participate well in everyday life.

We provide social services for social rehabilitation and personal assistance.

Social rehabilitation

Social rehabilitation represents support and advice in all aspects of normal life – we help our clients find out an appropriate working position for them (on the open market there are the services Supported Employment and Job Clubs, or on the protected work market), education at standard and special schools, housing and free time. We also provide advice for disability aids.

Personal assistance

Personal assistance represents help with all activities that a person would manage alone without their disabilities. This is most often someone to accompany them but also assistance with all their normal daily activities (taking care of themselves and their household), assistance at work, at school and during free time activities. We also provide consultations to those who can and want to coordinate their assistants themselves.

With all of our activities we try to help people with disabilities lead a normal life. We also try to influence the public to minimise physical and psychological barriers – for example through the projects We’re in it with You (Jedeme v tom s vámi), Accessible Public Transport (Za MHD přístupnou), organising benefit events, etc.
